Get Rid of Scabies Mites for a Healthy Life

Scabies is caused by a type of mite that is a small eight legged parasite. It digs into our skin and enters the body. Though they die within 36 hours of entering our bodies, the female species lay eggs that spread the infection throughout our body. Itching sensation and rashes are the symptoms of the infection. Our skin reacts to the presence of the scabies mite or its egg erupting into red and big rashes that are itchy. The biggest danger is that the infection is contagious and one must be very careful in their movements and interactions with the infected person.
You may notice small, irregular blisters or bumps on your skin. Consult your doctor immediately. Apply medication as prescribed for at least eight hours. If your body is not sensitive or allergic timely and correct medication can kill the scabies mites though you may still have the itchy feeling on your body. To prevent it from relapsing you will have to thoroughly wash all the clothes that you had been using in the last few days. Wash all of them in hot soap water and dry on direct heat. Items that cannot be machine washed should be dry cleaned. There are possibilities of the mites going here and there on the clothes or bedspread. Store all the items that you cannot clean or wash. Vacuum the carpet and other furnishings. Permethrin, Lindane and Malathion are the conventional treatments normally prescribed by the doctors. But there have been complaints of reactions and side effects and pregnant women are advised not to use it.
But many still prefer to go in for natural remedies as they are gentle and soft on the skin and have no side effects.
1. Mix hot water with any sulfur based shampoo. Wash your body twice or thrice in a day. The growth of mites would keep reducing with each wash as the mites cannot survive heat.
2. Another is the tea tree oil. Have a warm water bath. Put a few drops of the tea tree oil in the warm water. Have bath at least two times in a day.
3. Scabies spread easily and fast so you should use disinfectant sprays all over surfaces that you have touched.
4. Using borax, Neem oil or Epson salts are a few other ingredients that could be mixed in hot water. Have the hot water bath twice a day. The mites die and the skin is cleaned of the infection.
You should take immediate precautions to kill the scabies to prevent it from spreading across your entire house.
Treating scabies can be done at home using the ScabiesReview.com guide and reading the ScabiesForum.com posts. Remember the longer you leave scabies untreated the longer both treatment and post scabies will last.
